Background
I started my working life in South Africa, as an English teacher and counsellor in a secondary school. I have always loved the vibrancy and zest for life that young people have, and find working with them a rich and rewarding experience.
On my return to the UK, my working life has consisted of school counselling in both secondary and primary schools, and individual and group work in Community Mental Health Teams for adults. Prior to working in Community Mental Health Teams, I worked in Children's Services, supporting children and young people on an individual basis, as well as working therapeutically with families.
Having lived and worked in different parts of the world, I am always interested in the notion that where you are affects how you are.

I have lectured on the CPCAB Therapeutic Counselling Diplomas taught in Reading, Farnborough and Basingstoke, as well as on other counselling degree courses for Peter Symonds College and Guildford College.
Having worked with qualified therapists since 2015, I decided to gain my diploma in supervision in 2017 and thereafter started working with trainees. I have supervised groups at Basingstoke, Farnborough and Peter Symonds Colleges. I continue to supervise individual therapists and groups.
I work with adults and young people on a one to one basis in a quiet and confidential space for you to talk about whatever is troubling you without distraction. We can engage in just talking or when words fail, we can use creative media to find ways to express yourself. I am led by you in what you would like to focus on and will work at your pace. I firmly believe that you have the resources within to deal with what troubles you and that my role is to help you make links to patterns and discover the wisdom within.
I am very interested in providing therapy for student counsellors who are required to undergo therapy as part of their course requirements. This is an interesting relationship as you may not have chosen to undertake therapy if not for course requirements and this brings an added dimension to the work we might complete together, additionally you are learning theories that may or may not match your experience in the therapeutic space. I am always keen to explore these experiences with you.
